As the holiday season came to an end TV’s dysfunctional family is back with a new episode. On this episode, Phil visited his doctor because of a tender spot under his arm. His doctor wants to run some tests and when Pete missed a phone from his doctor and was not able to find out the results of his medical exams starts jumping to conclusions and predicted that he will go soon.

In the meantime, Javier once again drops by unannounced at the Pritchett place and invites Manny out for a late birthday treat to the horse races. This made Jay feel threatened of the presence of Manny’s biological father in their lives. Javier’ unexpected visit has upset Jay’s plan to take Manny to a golf session. So the three just went to the racetrack where Jay and Javier started having a competition over Manny’s love.

Then, over the other house, Mitchell comes home so happy and proud of winning an award from the environmental law; he proudly displays it on his mantle. Cam is not going to be beaten so he displayed the regional fishing trophy he won from Missouri. And so a game of who got the bigger trophy ensues.

Mitchell, of course, is not overly impressed and starts getting annoyed that Cam tries to steal his winning moment. Mitchell starts saying that his award was a distinguished award that his peers have given him while Cam’s trophy was just an award from the pier.

Gloria on the other hand, starts telling her family about her premonition on Phil’s health because they all really think that he is sick. In the end, it turned out that the doctor’s missed phone was only about some real estate deal and nothing is really wrong with Phil. Phil will survive so it seems.
